Experience & Bio

David provides individual, group and family psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. He brings a warm, collaborative, and integrative approach to therapy, creating a safe and inclusive space for clients to explore identity, relationships, and life transitions. David enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community and has extensive experience supporting clients in navigating sexual orientation, gender identity, and the unique challenges that can arise in these areas.

David has an MSW from The Catholic University of America, an M.Div. form Union Presbyterian Seminary and completed advanced post-graduate training through the Washington School of Psychiatry’s Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program.

His career began in youth leadership as Program Director at an overnight summer camp and later as Assistant Director of Youth Ministry in Raleigh, NC, where he worked with over 500 middle and high school students. He has directed youth service projects across the United States, as well as in Russia and Northern Ireland.

In Washington, D.C., David has worked extensively with at-risk and underserved youth, including positions at Sasha Bruce YouthBuild and The McClendon Center, where he facilitated groups for young adults using the Men’s Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (M-TREM). He also served as a substance abuse therapist at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington.

David brings decades of experience, a deep respect for each client’s unique story, and a commitment to fostering spaces where healing, growth, and self-discovery can unfold.  His colleagues and clients can always count on him to lift their spirits with his warm sense of humor and optimism. In addition, David is passionate about leading retreats for individuals seeking time to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most.
