Joe Cabush, Licensed Therapist, Fairfax, VA

Joe is widely respected in the Fairfax and greater Washington metro community for his deep clinical expertise and genuine compassion. Joe has been working with adolescents, families, adults and groups for 30+ years. He is known for his insight, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to helping adolescents and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity and connection. He is a graduate of American University and Smith College School for Social Work.

In addition to private practice, he served on the Board of Trustees for Green Acres School and taught at the Catholic University School of Social Service. He has worked with the Fairfax County Health Care Alliance, developed the Preparation for Adult Careers and Education (PACE) program for high school students with emotional and learning disabilities, and worked for 10 years in independent schools. He has facilitated over 5,000 group therapy sessions with youth. With Heather Kirby, he started the first Gender Expansive Youth therapy group in Northern VA.

As a consultant to public and independent schools and primary care practices in Northern Virginia, Joe works to bring people together to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities. He also provides training and presentations on teens and mental health. Joe enjoys hiking, fishing, cooking and camping with his family.
