Brian has worked in the helping fields since 2012. He received his Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from George Mason University. He has worked in areas including but not limited to substance use detoxification, crisis/suicide hotline, urgent mental health walk in clinic, emergency room/hospital, court referred residential home, and the public-school setting. He currently works full-time for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) as a high school level social worker. He has specialties in trauma and recovery, crisis de-escalation, anxiety, depression, bipolar depression, suicidality, self-injury, distress tolerance, and accountability. His work is primarily Solution Focused and supplemented with techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and play therapies. He believes in a holistic approach to therapy that considers all aspects of the client’s situation. In his free time he enjoys camping, mountain biking, hiking, cooking, and woodworking.
