Friends Group
Psychotherapy Support Group for Youth
Core Values
The Friends Group is designed to facilitate deep connection and mutual support. Even if someone does not disclose their particular issue, knowing that others have similar issues and accept them is powerful. Through an agreement of mutual respect and trust we can engage in self awareness, creative play, have fun, share a meal, and be just ourselves. Participants share their personal goals and struggles in a safe place. Asking for advice and giving advice to others is essential to all parts of life. Through meeting new people, participants prepare for the next school year, a new job, and for college. Friendship takes time, commitment, empathy, and shared experiences. Most groups are open ended and year round. This means participants can begin or end at a time of their choosing.
