Parent Support Group for Highschoolers with ADHD in Fairfax, VA
What Is a Parent Support Group? How Can It Help Parents of High School Students with ADHD in Northern VA?
As therapists, we regularly participate in professional consultation small groups where we present cases to ensure we are providing the highest quality care to our clients and their families. These groups allow us to draw upon the collective wisdom, experience, and perspectives of trusted colleagues when navigating challenges and supporting growth.
Our Parent Consultation Group is built on the same principle. Parenting a teenager with ADHD can often feel isolating, overwhelming, and confusing. In this group, parents have the opportunity to connect with other families facing similar challenges while receiving guidance and support from experienced clinicians. When each parent shares their unique parenting experience, participants will learn practical strategies, gain new perspectives, increase confidence, and find comfort in not being alone in the journey. Just as consultation helps us become better therapists, parent consultation can help you become a more informed, supported, and effective parent.
Details of Our Parent Support Group
This is not a parent education class – what makes this a true support group is that each parent will have extended time to share their experience and ask for guidance. The size is limited to six families at a time.
Our Parent Consultation Group is designed for parents of high school students with ADHD who are seeking support, practical strategies, and connection with other families facing similar challenges. Led by experienced clinicians, the group combines peer consultation with professional guidance to help parents navigate the teenage years with greater confidence and support.
